ALIGNER TECHNOLOGY
The technology behind the badge
The badge stands for a real difference at the bench. Active Aligners are made from a medical-grade, tri-layer shape-memory material: firm, clear outer layers bonded to a soft, springy core. The outer layers hold their shape and express precise, controlled force, while the inner layer flexes to deliver that force gently, sustained as a longer, more continuous push across each stage of wear.
Every aligner carries a 2 mm extended straight trimline rather than a scalloped edge. By gripping more tooth structure, the straight trimline supports better retention and more reliable transfer of force to the teeth. This is backed by independent in-vitro research on gingival margin and trimline design, which found that trimline geometry meaningfully affects aligner retention. Each aligner is then formed using positive-pressure thermoforming rather than vacuum suck-down. Forming the material under positive pressure captures fine detail at the tooth surface and the gumline, so the aligner fits accurately and works exactly as the plan intends. Only the stage models are 3D printed, calibrated to our own laboratory conditions; the aligner itself is thermoformed over those models for accuracy at the tooth and gumline.
